Scope: Finance, build, manage and operate two general hospitals Location: Turks and Caicos Islands Project duration: 2008 – 2033 Client: The Turks and Caicos Islands Government

InterHealth Canada was awarded a 25 year contract TO FINANCE, PLAN, DESIGN, CONSTRUCT, STAFF, COMMISSION, AND MANAGE TWO NEW HOSPITALS IN THE TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS

The facilities are operating with approximately 180 multi-disciplinary clinical staff, including employees from the existing hospitals. There is a scheduled visiting doctors program for cardiology, neurology, urology, renal medicine, ENT, ophthalmology and reconstructive (plastic) surgery. In addition, 40 human resources operate the FM services. Regular routine and emergency recommendations for any treatment required under the Emergency Overseas Treatment program are made and monitored.

The facility was opened on time and on budget despite both hospitals suffering damage from Hannah and Ike Hurricanes during the construction phase. Both Centres, now completed, are certified as storm proof to Hurricanes- Category 5.
